Equipment
Clashing Steel Fencing has a limited supply of equipment available to our newest members. After the first few weeks as a new member, the club will work with you to order a starter set. Our general policy is, all members are expected to bring their own equipment in order to fence. Our preferred equipment vendor is Blue Guantlet Fencing Gear.

For those looking to compete at local fencing tournaments, we've compiled a comprehensive list
of all of the equipment you would need in order to participate.

In order to compete all fencers must have the minimum equipment:
- 1 x Fencing Mask (with conductive bib)
- 1 x Under arm protector (Plastron)
- 1 x Fencing Jacket
- 1 x Fencing Glove (No holes / major damage)
- 1 x Pair of fencing pants (Knickers)
- 1 x Pair of long knee socks
- 1 x Pair of athletic shoes -or- fencing shoes. If you don't have fencing shoes then a pair of athletic shoes with a flat bottom work fine
- 1 x Lame
- 2 x Body Cords (more the better. Safer to bring at least 3)
- 2 x Mask Cords
- 2 x Electric Foils (more the better. Safer to bring at least 4)
The club can loan out weapons, cords, and lames before the tournament.
